Choosing the right composite door can be a nightmare, the choices are endless. It can be hard enough choosing a style and a colour, let alone figuring out which brand to go for. Unfortunately, there are some truly horrendous doors on the market, and some of them even come with big price tags. We have been installing composite doors for over 20 years, with all of this experience it means we have tried them all so you don’t have to!
‘Composite’ means the door is made from a mixture of materials. Most composite doors come with a uPVC outer frame, a grp skin on the door leaf and the insides of the door are either foam filled or a solid timber core. Although the foam doors are slightly better insulated the solid core timber doors are considered the premium option.
